Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the Peers game for iOS and the peersstudios.com website (together, the “Services”). We design the Services to collect as little as possible.
The short version: Peers has no accounts, no ads, and no interest in who you are. We count anonymous plays and site visits so we can make the game better. The details follow.
1. Data We Collect
We do not operate any account or authentication system, and we do not request or store information that directly identifies you, except when you voluntarily provide it (for example, when you email us for support).
- Game content you create — founder names, company names, saves, and all gameplay progress are stored locally on your device. They are never transmitted to us.
- Anonymous gameplay statistics (game version 3.0.1 and later) — coarse events such as which story seasons are started or completed and major milestones reached. These are associated only with a random identifier generated on your device, which contains no personal information and cannot be linked to you. You can disable this at any time in the game's Settings.
- Website usage data — page views, referral source, approximate location (country/region derived from IP), device type, and interactions with page features, collected via Google Analytics.
- Aggregate platform statistics — Apple provides us anonymized, aggregate data (downloads, sessions, crashes) from users who have opted into sharing analytics with developers in their device settings.
2. How We Use Data
- Operating, maintaining, and improving the Services.
- Understanding how the game is played — for example, where players stop in a story season — so we can improve it.
- Responding to support inquiries.
- Complying with legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information, run advertising, track you across other apps or websites, or build profiles unrelated to the Services.
3. Disclosures to Third Parties
We do not share data with third parties for their own independent use. We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf:
- Google Analytics — processes the anonymous gameplay statistics and website usage data described above.
- Apple — as the platform provider, distributes the game and provides aggregate analytics.
- Hosting providers — serve the website.
We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or court order, or to protect our rights or user safety.
4. Data Retention
- Gameplay saves live on your device and persist until you delete the app.
- Anonymous analytics data is retained for up to 14 months, after which it is automatically deleted or aggregated.
- Support emails are kept only as long as needed to resolve your request.
5. Your Choices
- Disable anonymous gameplay statistics anytime in the game's Settings.
- Control Apple's developer analytics sharing in your device's Privacy settings.
- Deleting the app deletes your saves and permanently severs the anonymous identifier.
6. Children's Privacy
The Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn we have inadvertently collected such information, we will delete it promptly.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information. Because the data we collect is anonymous, we generally cannot identify which data relates to you — which also means no one else can. For anything you have sent us directly (such as support email), contact us and we will honor access and deletion requests.
8. Security
We use commercially reasonable safeguards to protect the information we handle. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute protection.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time; changes are indicated by the effective date above. Continued use of the Services after changes indicates acceptance.
10. International Users
We are based in the United States, and data may be processed and stored where we or our service providers operate.
